Street light repairs are officially underway: Crews have begun restoring street lights throughout key areas of the Palisades, including along Sunset Boulevard. It’s a meaningful step toward bringing back the everyday sense of normalcy, safety, and activity throughout the neighborhood.
LADWP plans to bury up to 45 miles of power lines by 2031: One of the biggest long-term improvements announced so far, LADWP’s plan to underground power lines throughout the Palisades is aimed at improving wildfire resilience, safety, and reliability for the future. It’s a major investment in rebuilding the community stronger than before.
Gerry Blanck’s Karate Dojo is returning: A longtime Palisades staple, Gerry Blanck’s Martial Arts Center has been an important part of the community for generations of local families. News of its return feels especially meaningful, not just because a business is reopening, but because it represents the return of the people and places that make the Palisades feel like home.
The Will Rogers 5K/10K Run is back this Fourth of July: One of the community’s most beloved traditions is officially returning in 2026. The annual race has always been about more than running, it’s about bringing neighbors together, celebrating community spirit, and reconnecting with the Palisades.
Blue Ribbon Sushi is officially returning to Palisades Village this August: The new location will introduce Ueki, an intimate 14-seat omakase tasting experience led by Chef Hongki Lee.
Temescal Canyon Dog Park Moves Forward: The long-awaited Temescal Canyon Dog Park is moving toward an official construction start in Fall 2026 at its site north of Pacific Coast Highway. The project represents the culmination of over 20 years of community advocacy, successfully transforming a former wildfire debris staging area into a dedicated legal space for local off-leash recreation.
